Himachal Pradesh is home to scenic mountain towns, Snow-capped mountains, plunging valleys and landscapes, hill-stations such as Shimla, Dalhousie, LahaulSpiti Kulu, Chamba, Manali, and many more. The state host His Holiness DalaiLama, the exiled spiritual leader of Tibet at Dharamshals, has a strong presence of exiled Tibetan. There are numerous Buddhist temples and monasteries, as well as Hindu temples spread across the state.
The state is the ultimate go-to destination for adventure seekers with numerous opportunities for trekking, rock climbing, mountain biking, paragliding, ice skating, climbing, river rafting, and sking. The word Himachal is a combination of the Sanskrit words, “Hima” and “Anchal”, which means “snow” and “lap” respectively. It is no coincidence that the state is located in the lap of the himalayas.
