This is because Uzbekistan is surrounded by five other landlocked nations, namely Kazakhstan in north; Kyrgyzstan in northeast; Tajikistan in southeast; Afghanistan in south; and Turkmenistan in south-west. Its capital and largest city is Tashkent.
