Nathmal Ji ki Haveli –Known for Distinct Architecture in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan
Jaisalmer city, is known for its massively decorative havelis. Nathmal ki Haveli is a major tourist attraction of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. This haveli was built by Maharawal Bairisal, King of Jaisalmer in the end of 1885. The haveli was commissioned by him, to serve as the residence of his prime minister, Diwan Mohata Nathmal; who resided in this haveli, and thus the ornate haveli got its name.
Bada Bagh Complex in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan
Bada Bagh, also called Barabagh or “grand garden” is a garden complex located about 6 kms north of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. Ground work for Barabagh was started by Maharaja Maharawal Jait Singh II, a descendant of Maharawal Jaisal Singh, the founder of Jaisalmer State, in 16th century when he built a dam to create a water storage tank to make the desert green in this area.
Gadisar Lake – Beautiful Attraction of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan
Gadisar Lake also called Gadaria Lake is located in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, India. The nearly 1000-year-old artificial lake was built by the founder of city of Jaisalmer, King Rawal Jaisal in 1156 AD. The lake was later rebuilt by Maharwal Gadsi Singh in 1367 AD, after whom the lake was renamed as Gadisar Lake.
