Singapore or Republic of Singapore, is an island and city-state in Southeast Asia. It lies about one degree latitude or 137 kms north of the equator, off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula, bordering South China Sea in the east, Singapore Strait to the south, Straits of Johor in the north, and Strait of Malacca to the west.
